If you are using a chimney, just place 2 or 3 fire starters under the briquettes and light. Otherwise, form a pile of briquettes and slide the packet between briquettes at the base.

We suggest storing them in a standard area such as a garage, basement cabin, etc - but in fact it doesn’t really matter! And they have a 30 year shelf life, so there is not much worry on the expiration.
